I'm telling...

As parents we all know how annoying the phrase, "I'm telling" is. When I signed up to be a mom I didn't realize I was also going to be a referee! But I can't help but think that if Zachary had been home and not a friends house THIS would not have happen!!! Havana did it, she finally cut her own hair. I know that all girls experiment with their look at one point, but really. She came out of the toy room to show me her super beautiful new bangs. Her words, not mine. I was not thrilled, and she picked up on my mood. You can tell by her face.

Here she is prepped for another haircut. I would try desperately to rectify the damage. Still not happy.

And here is the final result. Hello forehead! I hope she got the message loud and clear, DO NOT CUT YOUR OWN HAIR! My baby girl is growing up. I doubt this will be her last fashion faux pas, but between you and me, it will always be her cutest! Peace!

Getting older!

So today I sit and reflect on my age, why today? Well because today I turn 28. For 28 years I have graced this earth with my presence. I have met some really great people, some really interesting people, and of course some awful people. I have been a great friend, a good friend, a crummy friend, and a fantastic enemy (probably better at the last on). I have been a daughter, a wife, a mom, a student, a teacher, a patient, a doctor, a friend, a foe, and on and on. Though I still have MANY things to learn I now feel comfortable in my skin, and now a days there is lots of skin to feel at home in. I no longer worry about my worry lines, as much. I don't yank out the grays with the same fervor. My life has been blessed and I thank GOD everyday for putting such amazing people in my life. Thank you to all the wonderful people in my life. I am a firm believer that when you turn a year older, you are still all the other ages you were before. So today I turn 28, but I am still 27,26,25,24..... So instead of celebrating 28 today, I think I will celebrate 25!.....plus 3. Love ya all. Peace!

Summer Time!

So I haven't posted in awhile and I'm feeling kind of guilty. We just haven't bee up to much. We spend most of our time in the pool. Zachary's basketball team is undefeated and Havana played her first and last basketball game this past Saturday. She quit! I had a feeling she really wasn't digging it. I have no pictures to post, how boring I know! But Friday is Zachary's 7th birthday, so I'll have some pictures then. Peace!

Blaine & Chachy plus 4

This past Friday our family grew by two. We added two puppies to this crazy household! We had been wanting, and by we i mean Blaine and the kids, a dog around the house. I am not particularly fond of animals. But we. and by we I mean me, make accommodations to make our families happy! So I formally introduce you to Cinnamon and Oscar. They are so cute!!!

Here is a close up off Oscar. He is hard to photograph. But I thought I would show a picture of his boo boo. At his previous home a big dog bit him! I better not catch that dog in the streets. He's a good pup. He's the one Havana choose, so he's Havana's dog. He is so good with her. She carries him around all day and he just loves all over her. They are a match made in heaven.

Here's a picture of Cinnamon. This dog loves getting her picture taken, any time I point the camera at her she stops and stares at me with her beautiful hazel eyes. So I'll give you three guesses as to who her owner is. Ding, Ding, Ding....Zachary. That's right my little man has found his doggie double.

Today we took the pups to the park. Here are all four of the rugrats. We had a great time chasing the dogs and laughing together. Together....what a great place to be. Peace!

Vacation

So I haven't blogged in over a week and I have a good excuse. We were on vacation! The kind with NO kids, which anyone with children knows, they are the only ones that count. Blaine and I, along with his mom, dad, Amy (sister), and Megan (sisters friend) went on a 4 night cruise. It was the first cruise for all of us, so that was something cool to share with everyone.

Here is a good picture of Tink and Tom on the ship. We were all able to enjoy this great vacation because of there immense generosity! You see this May they celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. Wow, I know! To celebrate, they paid to take all of us on a cruise! The original cruise was suppose to go from San Diego to Catalina Island to Ensenada, then a fun day at sea then back to San Diego. After the swine flu scare, Carnival was no longer stopping in Mexico, so the trip was going to include 2 days at sea. We were bummed, but such is life.

Here's a picture of Blaine and me in Catalina. We had a blast. We rode bikes around the the town and shopped for souvenirs. We even sent a postcard back home to the kids. Later that day we went snorkeling. That was the best! I couldn't believe how much fun that was. I think I may have found a new hobby. Now I just need to move closer to the beach.

That night on the ship we had our elegant dinner with the captain. Here is a picture of all of us dressed to the nines. Blaine looked so handsome in his suit. We had a great time.

The next day was suppose to be our additional day at sea, when the captain announced that since the swine flu had been MUCH ado about nothing, we were going to go ahead and stop in Ensenada. There was a collective shout of joy from everyone on the ship then a rush to get ready to get off the boat. Blaine had been to Ensenada about a year and half ago for the Baja 1000 race, so he showed me some of the places he had been to while he was there. Here is evidence of the biggest desert race in the world. This is where all the cars, bike, and quads line up to tech. I thought it was funny that the markings are still there on the main road in town.

Blaine, Amy, Megan and I had a cab take us to the beach later that day. It was beautiful. I could have stayed there for days. It was the most relaxing time of the vacation. I spent 2 hours of pure bliss.

Amy challenged us to make our best sand animals and offered to judge them. We all started to work furiously on our creations. You can imagine our surprise when we all discover that we had each made turtles! Creative devils aren't we. Amy chose Blaine's as the winner. Whatever their related and I'm not bitter.
So there are the highlights of our trip. We had a great time and I can't thank Tink and Tom enough for our wonderful vacation!!!!!! Peace!
